Ok, so we had some friends over at my mother's house earlier today and I was listening to the NOAA Wx. Radio as we had some storms passing NE of us.
So... later today as they were getting ready to leave the alarm went off for a FLASH FLOOD warning for a couple of counties north to me. I turned on the weather radio.
And do you know what one of my friends said?
"How long does that guy's shift last? He was on earlier this morning, too!"
I just had to

That's pretty funny Garrett. Our 24/7 guy, sometimes a female voice, but mostly male, mispronounces several words. Or his voice goes way up for the word Ohio. Emphasis on the hi part. We all crack up......which reminds me of that Friends episode, where Joey heard an automated answering machine voice announce "you have 3 new messages", and says - wow what a cool job!
Is your friend's name Joey by any chance.....LOL

The good news, Garrett, is that means your friend was actually listening to NOAA weather radio several times that day!
I remember the old days when radio was done by "live people."

What old days....seems like here in Ohio that was only a few years ago! Where's polarbear to confirm when I need him.....at least it seems like it was not long ago at all. Now we really get a laugh each time we listen, b/c something is pronounced wrong. The kids want to know why I don't just turn on TWC. Then I have to explain yet again, how we no longer have a detailed local forecast, but a regional one that barely covers anything (Dish). Ugh!
I like to listen to my Hal the Computer-voice Wx Radio guy when I iron. For some odd reason, the two seem to go together.....ironing/monotone forecasts....LOL

I remember the 1st time I got my weather radio.. I thought to myself.. "This guy must be really tired" because he was talking for like 12 hours straight lol..
