I have so much perfume. How long do you keep it. How many years will a bottle last? I need to clean out some bottles.

I keep mine until I get sick of it, or it just doesnt smell right... haha!

The only perfume I've ever had go "bad" was a bottle that I kept in my car for when I needed a quick refresher on the go. Maybe the heat did something to it...

But I'm not sure how long perfume is supposed to last... Just dig through and get rid of the ones you dont like anymore.

I hate perfume! Gives me headaches....probably goes back to the days when a little old lady would sit near me in church, wearing a bottle of perfume. I was stuck next to her for over an hour. Ready to heave by the time I left church!

In my 20s I was into a few scents.....Tatiana was one. Charlie another.

But I'd spray one small squirt on one wrist, wipe the other wrist on it, then take both wrists behind my ears.

A bottle lasted me YEARS this way.

Now I do not own one stinking perfume bottle to save my life. I'm kinda weird I know, not into eye shadow either (never was!).

I'm really not a fan of perfume..... the smell gives me headaches. I mainly use lotions to entice the men.

I have two favorite scents, right now: "Happy" by Clinique, and,
"Lavender Vanilla" body spray by Bath & Body Works. It depends on
what mood I am in as to which I choose for the day. I use mine before
they go to "stank".....LOL...."Stank" is the pure alcohol smell without the
actual scent....An old friend of mine used to say, "Sheeeeew!! Throw that
perfume out, girl - it's gone to stank!"

I love perfume!

Janice, when you go thru your perfumes and select the ones you don't want anymore don't throw them away. Give them to a womens' shelter.

Never touch the stuff...Eau de le Homme suits me just fine.

Please don't blast me for this but WHY oh WHY do older women (70's and up) DROWN themselves in perfume? I mean, working in the grocery business for those 20 years, as soon as a older woman walked in the door, the store would FILL with the ODOR of the nastiest perfume and the closer they got to the meat dept

They do this because their sense of smell is diminished - they keep spraying until they can smell the perfume.

The only thing worse than people that wear too much perfume is people that wear perfume/scent (including men here) instead of bathing. BO mixed with perfume is not a good smell, no matter what brand of perfume it is. When I was growing up there was one family that came into our store every so often that smelled - obviously didn't bathe before coming to town (or for weeks previous to the trip) and they loaded up with perfume to cover it. My brother and I used to race to the back door when we saw them park their car - the slow one had to stay in the store and wait on them.

I just keep mine until they don't smell "right" any more LOL. I only have a couple of favorites though, and rarely remember to put them on - or maybe it is 'cause the only place I go now is work (boring)

ive been wearing "beautiful" by estee lauder for 10 or more years......the secret is dont spray too much.....one squirt on your wrist and one on the neck and your good to go...

If I were you I'd chunk the ones you haven't wore in the past 6 months or so. If it's been that long you probably won't ever use it again. Me I find one sent I like, right now its Divine from Victorias Secret. I use it till its gone and then either find a new scent or get the same one. I also use body sprays, they are light and refreshing, they seem to last forever too.

I'm hooked on Victoria's Secret splashes! I have "Miami Glow", but my husband says it is too strong for him even when I only put a dab on. He gets headaches really easily and the VS line is all he can handle. The best part is that a bottle costs 1/5th of what some perfumes cost! As long as it smells like fruit or vanilla, I'm happy!

Annette - I have no idea what you're talking about....LOL Seriously, my dad used Brill Cream for years. Mistook the tube once for toothpaste - we never heard the end of that story!

Do you know they still make it? Yup. Jim went as a 50s Greaser to a Halloween party once. He asked me to buy a tube. But when it came to the part where he was supposed to slick his hair back or down, he balked. Was worried it wouldn't wash out. Do I really need to do this? It wasn't cheap either - $6 at Target! So I returned and told the clerk the truth. She laughed and said her husband wouldn't have used it either. Makes ya wonder who is still using this stuff? Maybe Brill Cream will die out with our parent's generation, like the plastic fold up bonnets/hats women keep in their purse for when it rains, or the Ortho-pedic type shoes my mom wears. No thanks I say, I'll never wear those....LOL

I love Clinique's "Happy", and Estee Lauder's "Beautiful" for special occassions. I use them up, so I never have to throw them out

Perfume - Phooey!

Your right to wear perfume ends when I have to smell it.

One of my pet peeves: Women who wear overpowering perfume at work. In some cases it's so strong that I'm afraid that it'll make me smell of woman. Then I'd have to go home and try to 'splain to the Missus. When I catch a whiff of someone who marinades in it, I stay far away!

LOL, Ed, I've smelled a few guys who marinaded in the
cologne, too! I walk up the hall to the back door of the
office, sniffing, going..."Hmmmm...who could THAT be?"
In a few moments, once in the office, I get the pleasure
of putting that nice scent-altered gentleman in a room -
where I leave the door open for purposes of obtaining
fresh air, and, I warn the Doc, before he goes in, that
leaving the door open might be a good idea....

Wearing cologne to the doctor's office? In those small examining rooms?
I can see it now: "OK, now can you change into this gown," then leave the door open.
