Whatever is on sale

LOL. But I like aquafresh the best I suppose. I don't really have to much of a prefrence though. We bought some of the new flavored ones, cinnamon it was and that was the only one we couldnt use. My husband or me did'nt care for it. Was not cinnamony enough. Kinda funky.

Oh do I have a definite opinion on this subject!
For YEARS, my toothpaste of choice was simply Colgate's, plain gel in tube. Not the orginal white paste.
Then they quit making it a few years ago. I could only find plain white paste, not gel.
Of course Colgate offers a zillion forms of the gel form - whitening, plaque fighting, mouthwash, etc. Our dentist says to avoid all of these, and just use straight, simple toothpaste. Use whitening ones occasionally, to keep up with tea and coffee stains.
Then Colgate came out with Icy blue gel in bottle form, which is very close to their old gel. Just more watery. I'm happy again. But it's very hard to find this simple 'gel' in bottle form. Again, there are so many other varieties, etc.
Finally, I HATE Crest Dennis. I just want to gag on the taste. OMG, it's like putting liver in my mouth. LOL
Hubby uses plain ole Crest paste. We each have our own toothpaste - the secret to a happy marriage? And if I run out, do I borrow his - no way! I borrow from the kids.....I'd rather use a bubble gum flavor than anything remotely tasting like Crest!

Miss Mary-
I was wondering about the colgate plain gel myself. That is the red stuff right? I remeber trying it at a girlfriends house when I was a teenager. Well I was thinking about it in recent years and went looking for it and could'nt find it either. I was starting to second guess myself on the brand. It is the colgate gel that was red right? If it isn't and if someone else knows what I am talking about please tell me. Close up comes to mind to, but I remeber going through this a few years back and could not find the red gel I remeber using. I guess it's out with the old and in with the new. The amount of new hygiene products for your mouth is out of control. There seems to new things every week weather it be a new flavor toothpaste, or the new brush ups, brush on the go which I think is a great idea.

O Town - sorry, the gel I am talking about was blue. Came in a tube and was just plain Colgate toothpaste. But instead of original flavor in paste, it came in blue gel form.
You can find this simple taste, but in the stand up bottle one. I was mistaken earlier - it says Fresh Mint on the front. And 2 in 1, toothpaste plus mouthwash. No whitening, plague fighting additives.

To demonstrate how many varieties of Colgate toothpaste there are available, see this site. The one I'm using now is the second item as you scroll down: the 2 in 1 Fresh Mint, on left in blue gel, stand up bottle. This is a UK shopping site, didn't see the old gel in tube....

~or~ it was the CREST
NA...it was from my DISLIKE of dentists growing up, I still HATE the dentist, I would MUCH rather go to a proctologist than dentist

Sorry, but that's how MUCH I dislike going to ol' "sawtooth!"

Dennis - I ate lots of penny candy when I was a kid. Especially loved rock candy (brown sugar preferably) and red licorice.
My kids have had sealants available since their permanent teeth came in. They are 15 and 18 now. Neither has had a cavity and/or filling (yet).
I asked our Dentist once if this generation growing up is going to hurt his business someday - compared to baby boomer's mouths filled with fillings (I have one in just about every tooth) - and he said yes! They already are. Of course sealants are not cheap......wish we had them available when we were kids!

I honestly have no preference. It's different every time. Toothpaste is toothpaste.
A question though, what would happen if you used Efferdent in your mouth instead of brushing?

Or Brill Cream! That's what my dad did years ago....you could have heard him gagging in the next county over!
No thank you on the Efferdent.
