Still after the war a few months ago US and UK soldiers are being killed by still many people who dont want US or UK troops in Iraq.I fear that the US will have to stay for a very long time between 5-10 years. :o And now the Us has 2 more hot spots to contend with and those are IRAN and NORTH KOREA. :o

If we would get the Iraqi's power, telephone lines, water supply, etc. hooked up QUICKER, I think we would be seeing alot less of this, but there still will be Hussein loyalists out there to contend with. Our troops were not and are not trained to re-establish these necessities nor to start a nation. We need to get on the ball with this before we start picking fights with any other country (i.e. Iran).

guerillas are guerillas....they don't want to change their mindsets just because of the war.

this just points out why we have to continue the war on terrorism. 2 countries border iraq that are harboring and funding terrorism, iran and syria. while we cant occupy iran, we can help destabilize their govt. we cant stop and wait in iraq and allow our troops to be sitting targets. we have to continue on.

I understand that Rainstorm. The one thing I don't want to see happen is the Iraqi people that we "liberated" turn on our soldiers as well.
You're right Shannon - guerillas are guerillas and they don't really need an excuse. We don't want to give them anymore ammunition either, especially if public opinion turns against us.
