Yes, you read it right...just today, a new channel on my cable lineup was noted for the first time..."NBCW", with local weather 24/7.

Interesting. Is it any good?

It's like TWC used to be...bare-bones, nothing-but-weather 24/7, but tailored to our area (SE MO, Southern IL, Western KY/TN, NE AR).

What I've seen of the OCMs is good, too...it's like a timeflip back to pre-1996. :D

I'm thinking that NBC may be doing the same thing on cable nationwide. I have Charter, but you might check your own cable provider for NBCW. :larrow:

NBC Weather Plus is a new digital weather channel. It does have local emphasis(I believe the affiliates handle it) Their national mets have been appearing on MSNBC the past several months.

We have one in New Orleans. It started right before Hurricane Katrina. The only time I watch is on the internet, though.

We have something similar. It's called "News 5 Weather Plus". It's only available on Cincinnati's Time Warner Digital Cable (Channel 906) or digital broadcast channel 5-2 on TV, or online at http://www.channelcincinnati.com, but soon will be available on Northern Kentucky's Insight Digital service.
