I will give the answer when at least 5 people have responded. This is to see how dumb you are.
You are competing in a race, and overtake the runner lying in second
place. In which position are you now?
If you overtake the last runner, what position are you now in?
Take 1000. Add 40. Add another 1000. Add 30. 1000 again. Plus 20.
Plus 1000. And plus 10.
What is the total ?
Marie's father has five daughters: 1. Chacha 2. Cheche 3. Chichi 4.
Chocho 5. ????
Question: What is the fifth daughter's name?

How are you ever going to be able to overtake the last runner? It is most definetely impossible.

I think they have all heard these before.
I know I have. You forgot the bonus question. Which may be the easiest.
There is a mute person who wants to buy a toothbrush. By imitating the action of brushing one's teeth he successfully expresses himself to the shopkeeper and the purchase is done.
Now if there is a blind man who wishes to buy a pair of sunglasses, how should he express himself?
I got the email saying it was a test for Demetia

Actually, I'm going to disagree on the second question--to a degree. It would be impossible if the race's path never looped or crossed itself.
However, if it's ran on something like a track, that answer would be possible.
In the first question, "I" am in third place and I surpass the second-place runner... making "me" in second place. Thereafter, I overtake the last runner.
First, if you assume "last runner" as being the person is in last place, then I have "lapped" that runner. I remain in second place and the last place runner feels that much less about him-/herself.
Second, if you assume "last runner" as being the person I had just passed (was in second, now third place)... I can still, technically, lap him/her.
Either way, "I" remain in second place and all others, minus the leader, should feel less of themselves.

CentralFlGal wrote:Why would the blind man want sunglasses?
Sunglasses provide essential ultraviolet protection from the sun. Although a person is blind, their eyes are still vulnerable to the UV rays. That can eventually produce cancer and the last thing a blind man needs is cancer in his eyes.
