MELLVILLE, W.Va. -- Two workers are unaccounted for in a West Virginia coal mine where fire has broken out.
Authorities said the fire was reported at the Aracoma Coal Co. in Mellville, about 60 miles southwest of Charleston.
A spokeswoman for Gov. Joe Manchin said the fire apparently started on a conveyer belt that moves coal from the mine to the surface.
This fire comes less than three weeks after an explosion at the Sago Mine killed 12 miners. The only survivor of that blast, Randal McCloy, is still hospitalized in a light coma.
