I think most of had one favorite toy(s).........I know I did, it was "Matchbox Cars and Hot Wheels!" This came to mind today after being over at my fathers house sorting through things, I came across my Matchbox Collection I thought my EX WIFE took I've got Editions 2 through 39, all in good condition, I played with them ALL the time. So........what was your favorite toy? "ED........be NICE!"

I had this little pedal push white & pink car. It would have to be parked next to my bed when i took my nap. Later years it would definately been Barbie. Oh how I loved my Barbie dolls. I played with them for years and could spend hours upon hours playing with them. Today i regret trading in my original Barbie for the twist & turn Barbie...at Montgomery Ward! I can still picture that day in my mind.

Great topic, Dennis! I don't think that I had one favorite toy, but building sets were probably my favorite. Do you remember erector sets? The ones with the steel shapes and nuts and bolts. That was a lot of fun. I'd make cars with steering and suspension, and bridges that I could walk across. That was my downfall, though, I'd test things to destruction and end up with a lot of bent-up pieces.

I always wanted a sandbox (this was when I was really little) but my mother wouldn't have it because she didn't want sand to be brought into the house. They got us a box full of SAWDUST, which was really lame. So instead I'd take my matchbox cars out into the driveway and dig in the dirt and gravel with them. Once I made a road from one flower bed to another. Of course it required that all the grass in between be "cleared" like a forest. Lets just say that my parents didn't appreciate the construction requirements for that project. My matchboxes got a lot of hard use, so there wouldn't be much left of them.

Oh, one more.....

My cardboard, fold out Barbie house. When you opened it, it had 3 sides, built ins and came with furniture. When you closed it, it had a handle, and could be carried around like a suitcase. I loved that simple-simple Barbie house!

Like you Ed, I had many faves.....but these two (EB Oven) were probably my favorites.

*Edit.....found a Barbie house on eBay, just like the one I had! Toys sure have become complicated....just ask my husband, he spent hours putting together a Barbie house and camper, different years, but they were awful things to put together. Then your child would bring items to you, one by one, a steering wheel, a door, a table, that should have stayed together!

My Atari 2600 was my favorite toy.

My favorite toys were my Betsy Wetsy doll, and later a hula hoop. Also, my favorite paper dolls. The most important gift every year was chalk for hop scotch and a new rope for jumping.

My bike, jump rope & hula hoop, fishing pole and the golf cart I was able to drive around on the golf course my dad was the pro at. I lived outside as a kid. Drove around that golf cart with my fishing pole fishing all the lakes on the course.

I would have to say my matchbox cars. Let's just say I was never one of those pink and frilly little girls!

My Easy-Bake oven - man I loved that thing

I had those little army men..100's of them with tanks a cannons...Had 2 different armys set up on dressers on different sides of the room...Every day they would do battle...Never did find out who won that war.....

I had a dollhouse with electricity and running water that was very cool. It looked like a real house, you had to pull it open and when I was little I could actually sit in it.

Etch-a-Sketch was also cool because you didnt have to share...

and I remember my Fisher Price Circus which is now a collectible and worth a mint!

Man oh MAN....talk about memories, "Thanks!" Yeah.....I had MAJOR war games with my army men, when I received my first BB Gun......I would set them up and shoot them, got pretty good too I could take the head off an infantry guy at 5 yards "LOL!"

Yeah sometimes I would take the battle outside...I would shoot a tank round at about 20 of them that are sitting in dirt with fresh gasoline dumped on the dirt ..When I would shoot the tank I would throw a lit match at them and watch them melt....I would use a magnify glass to inflict bullet holes in them for the infantry hospital ....

I would have to say my bike.......and also my doll house.........my 13 barbies i had........and when atari came out i was addicted!
