I just put in my vacation request for Lundi Gras and Ash Wednesday, hoping to stay away from the city if I can! A nice, long 5-day week-end

The pre-Mardi Gras party is still on according to the organizers of the annual Lundi Gras celebration.
The Riverwalk Marketplace, which was damaged during Hurricane Katrina, has since reopened and will host the event.
The party is highlighted by the arrival of Kings Rex and Zulu, and will also feature music by several different bands and a fireworks display over the Mississippi River.
