For those who are interested, go to http://www.gtmodified.com, and take a look at the "Knights" graphics; the site owner lives a few doors down from me, and I'm designing some new imagery for his applications.

It's a few more bucks in my pocket...and I do like the idea of working at my leisure, unpressured and on my own schedule (very necessary for me to conserve energies).

My first effort is "Knight 9"...more to follow. :D

Hoo Ray!!! Great news. This could be the door that is opening for you. Good luck with the project Bill. You know your ray of hope adds a smile to my own day!

I spent the first check on drafting materials..."ya gotta spend money to make money"...still need Faber-Castell technical pens (WAY too expensive for me!), but thank God I still have my old folding drafting table from college times (been around since 1979, with all the "battle scars" to prove it!).

I have some cartographer's pens you can borrow! Haven't had ink in those wells since 1966!

Well now Bill, this topic sure made my day! So happy for you. Not sure I understand it all, but then that's your speciality! Again, happy designing. I'll go take a looksee right now.

Jason, the site owner, is trained in computer graphics...which is well and good. What I'm trying to do is insert a little "muscle and sinew" into the designs I create for him. Being a classically-trained artist (hand-eye coordination) gives me a certain peculiar "edge".

His designs are very "techno", almost Art-Deco (1930's); what I envision, on the other hand, is reminiscent of a quote from Conan the Barbarian...

"Steel isn't strong, boy; flesh is stronger. What is steel, compared to the hand that wields it?"

Cartographer's pens will work very well, Steve! Thanks! PM me, OK?

Having "designer's block" right now; not that I don't know what to draw, but I'm finding myself lacking SO many of the "trade tools" I once had...and took for granted.

Little things no one would notice, you know; blue leads (doesn't show up when photocopied), a rubber table top applique (which also can be used for cutting on with an X-Acto knife, and leaves no marks), as my drafting table surface was more damaged than I thought...crook-neck light with magnifier lens...

Oh, well; I can "make do" until I can find/afford to upgrade!

Next designs coming..."Desert Knight", followed by "Nordic Knight"; stay tuned!

Hey Bill... I have seen the flames on these cars alot. But what I never see is the flames extending from the front fender to the driver door, with the flames extending over the hood and roof. It would be cool to make it look like it is burning while in motion. Know what I mean?

We may see Bill's designs on the next 2 fast 2 furious. lol. You go Bill!! You are home.

I have an IDEA...if you all WANT "weather-on-your-car" designs, why not E-mail him directly? Click on the link above, and his E-mail and address is right there...

"Popular Demand" goes a LONG way!

OK, "wx-heads"! I just walked over to have a talk with Jason Compas (the guy who does this) and he would welcome any weather-related ideas for new designs.

He usually does Ford GT-sized vehicles, but if you have an SUV, HUMVEE, LandRover, OR a basic, B-flat car, and can send him a picture of what you want to see (get busy, photographers!), he will tell you what the design will cost (after he does a computer model of it). :D

Nice to have a "friend" in strange places, isn't it?

You getting an extra commission off your weather fanatic friends.

I sold my Nova for my hubby to get a blower for his luv truck - but my next car I've already named HURRICANE. I will come up with something and see what he will charge.

Great job to have Bill.
