Grey's Anatomy

Would have loved to have posted this sooner, but I just came off three 12-hour shifts this weekend and didn't get a chance to remember to post it.

Anybody watch Grey's Anatomy?

We were talking about it earlier this weekend and wondering what the "Code Black" would be (as seen in the previews for this post-Super Bowl show...btw, WAY TO GO STEELERS! Galveston boy on that team :) ).

My guess -- Code Black is when a staffer codes while in the OR.

Any other guesses before it all goes down?

"Code Black" at WallyWorld is when there is a threat of bad weather in the area.

A guy got shot with a WWII era Bazooka and it didn't go off... so this unexploded thing is lodged in his chest and this poor intern nurse has her hand inside him(at first unknowingly) keeping the bomb from probably going off. If it goes off, the hospital goes with it.

I've tried to watch every week since it premiered and never could get that interested in it, but WOW at tonight. Next looks absolutely awesome and I'm defintely hooked now.

It was nice seeing Christina Ricci on the show also...surprised the heck outta me. I wonder if she'll be back in the second part or if she's just hightailed it out of there! :)

Definitely an intense episode! I'm sure the writers of ER are smacking themselves for missing out on doing that one. I know I would be.

And the whole thing with Bailey's husband -- Heartwrenching!

Sounds like something I watched on MASH a long time ago. They had a phosphorus grenade or something they had to remove.

And I missed it. Not needing to take on another weekly show, I haven't tuned into Grey's Anatomy much. Maybe 5 minutes, if that. And also it felt like I was cheating on ER, which sounds really silly!

But I know what you meant right away Shawn. ER likes to be the one to try new things like this......

Ah but you see there was another fine-fine medical drama before ER......better than ER in fact, IMHO that is......and that was St. Elsewhere (firmly planted in my top 5 favorite shows of all time)......sigh, I still miss my St. E., to this very day!

I watched the show and if every episode is half as good as that one -- I am hooked! What an interesting show. Now, I have to watch next week, too. Our ABC affiliate didn't show previews for next week's episode for some reason. Is there a place I can watch it?

I love this show, and have been watching it since the middle of the first season. I think ABC was very smart the way they did iit, forcing all those new post-Super Bowl viewers to come back next week for closure. :D

I think what you are thinking about is when the North Koreans booby trapped a wounded soldier with a grenade. Another episode had a soldier with phosphorous fragments, and they used ultraviolet light to get the fragments out. I used to watch MASH a lot

I'll look around but the highlights were:

Meredith freaking out about the bomb
The black guy who is in charge of the interns appears to be having a heart attack
Derek finds out that Meredith is the woman with her hand on the bomb. We see him turn around while he's working on Bailey's husband and it sounds like the heart monitor goes dead(the beep sound like when someone isn't breathing anymore) and it leaves you with that.

BTW: It got a 19.2/32 in the ratings. That's going to be over 30 million viewers. It was averaging 18-20 million after DH.

Edit to add: It was the highest-rated Post-Super Bowl show since Survivor: Australia's premiere in 2001.

This show is great! I've watched it from the beginning and have looked forward to it every week. I hope all of you that watched it for the first time last week continue to watch it. You'll fall in love with every character and their quirks. Gotta love that Patrick Dempsey....drool!

I realize it can't happen since she's the title character and all, but I wouldn't mind seeing Meredith get herself get blown up because I'm so sick of the whole Meh-McDreamy plotline.

Plus if she was gone, they could spend more time on the far more interesting characters like Bailey, George, and Izzy.

I could stand more focus on Izzy. :)
