I was reading through the "USA forum" on a news/current events message board I go to sometimes and I came across this article from the NYT:

I was stunned. This is child-abuse pure and simple.

That is so sad. I wish he had waited to tell them until he was 18. Then if they suggested such a 'boot camp', he could have just packed his things and left (after saving money from odd jobs he could have held for 2 years).

I know I'd support my kids if they told me they were gay.

My heart really breaks for this young man. Hopefully he'll be stronger, in the end.
