Jaws author Peter Benchley dies at 65

All this time I thought it was Spielberg who wrote the novel and then went on to make the movie. After reading I now know it was Benchley who wrote it and Spielberg just did the movie. 65 is too young to die, may he rest in peace.

I remember watching the movie in the theaters that summer (1975) and not wanting to ever swim in the ocean (not into swimming anyway, so it was no great loss).

Then I read the book.....a real page turner, let me tell you.

When I think of Jaws I think of the music first. Always. Then the suspense out on the boat and mostly, Richard Dreyfuss. What a performance he gave.

The actor Robert Shaw was quite a character as well in that first Jaws movie...liked his line about bowlegged women for ie!
