At night, the frog symphony from the lake/pond which all the houses in our small subdivision back up around is starting to tune up! Their nightly performance usually reaches a crescendo a few weeks before the spring equinox. :) I wonder if the loss of the lakeside vegetation from Wilma will affect this year's froggy population? :(

Spring in Lakeland has started already. The oak trees are sending the pollen ou and turning the road ways gold with the fallen stuff. The tabuiea trees are blooming around town with the pretty yellow blooms coming along before the leaves. I have amaryillis bulbs sending up foliage and my plum tree that returned from the roots Hurricane Charley left in the ground, has started to bloom. It normally blooms in late Feb and March winds usually strip the blooms and leaves from the tree.

Temperatures have been near or in the 80s in my area today! It almost feels like summer, but more like spring!

Hope this spring is warm, unlike last spring. Can't wait. I hate winter. Nothing seems to be blooming here yet, but with this week of high 70's low 80's things should get started.

Yup, about time to go digging in the dirt and prepare the garden area. I am so over winter, my most unfavirote season, even though it wasn't a very cold one, I am over it. It has been beautiful this past week. The tabuiea trees are not blooming yet around here, nor has my orchid tree put out any blooms. But it is right around the corner!!!! Yippy! :bday:

It's funny that you use the word 'symphony' to describe the sounds of a good pond. That's exactly how I describe our pond in our back yard! I love the time of year when everything is alive and making noise. :)
