My Nephew Is Heading Back to Iraq

My nephew James left on Feb. 15 for round two in Iraq with the Marines. He was promoted to Corporal in February. He will be working on the Flightline on the ship and likely to stay in that position once stationed at Al Asad. The tour of duty is not certain, but estimated at 9 months once he is “in country." James is nearly 20 years old; his equally young wife will stay on base in San Diego. His family (my husband's sister Robin, her husband Steve, older sister Chrissy and her baby Ethan) live in Green Valley, AZ, not far from Grandma Lee.

Please keep him -- and all our wonderful servicemen and women -- in your positive thoughts.

Thanks -- Diane

I most certainly will keep James in my daily prayers, Diane. Please let him know he has my prayers and my gratitude for the sacrifices he has made, and is making again.

Of course I'll keep him in my prayers Diane. I know the feeling, my niece's husband served in Iraq for a year. I worried so much about him, many, many nights as I fell asleep. I was just so happy he came back and was on US soil again. Last I heard he was stationed in DC (sadly they divorced a few months after he came home from Iraq).

I'll send positive thoughts James and his family's way Diane.

Prayers are on their way for a safe tour of duty!

Marty's son, JR, has been out of the Air National Guard for 2 years as of January. Apparently his troop, 177th Air Fighters unit, is being sent back over there again. Thank God he's no longer available. Once you serve your 4 years and don't re-enlist, you're still "on call" for 2 years.

God Bless them all!
