If you have a "Paypal" account, Cincinnati police are urging you to be careful of the latest Internet scam.

It involves an e-mail about disputed charges.

For more information, the receiver is directed to a hypertext.

It does take you to Paypal, but not before flashing you past a Canadian website where police believe your credit card information may be stolen.

If you get such an e-mail, don't act on it.

If you have responded, you're urged to contact Paypal and your credit card company immediately.

Basically if any bank or financial instituion sends you an email about your account, it's a scam. No reputable financial institution will notify you of account troubles this way.

I'm ALWAYS getting in my bulk mail folder requests to "reactivate" my account at PayPal from a spammer.

PayPal encourages you to report this emails to them.

Yup me too. They never address you by your name and thats one way I know. If I am in doubt, I delete the email and go directley to my pay pal account and check there.

Thanks for the reminder. I get them too once in a while. I forward them on to ebay and get a nice thank you each time.
