Just curious, how many here *dabble* in the stock market? We have a few investments in a retirement fund, mutual stocks and a few others. Funny........my ex mother in law quite a few years ago invested quite a bit of money in the Trojan Condom Company, we all LAUGHED at her, 1 year later.......AIDS became the #1 news maker, who's laughing now :o She is..........ALL the way to the BANK! 8-)

I do to the extent that I monitor my 401K and shuffle and transfer funds dailey online. If it wasn't for this feature, I would probably never change my allocations but the internet access to managing my account gives me the flexibility to stay on top of things, and short of a complete crash of a particular fund I may have moved everything into, I am able to see that I am getting the most return for my investment. The last 3 months the Small Cap Growth Fund is at 23.73%. THAT will make you some money and that is where I have 80% at this time.

I have more 401k plans in various funds and I also have a couple of my own separate mutual funds. I do have a brokerage account where I have a few shares of GE, Kraft, Pepsi and Kimberly Clark in there as well.

I did purchase some shares of a software stock (the company has since been bought out) in 1999 and saw it skyrocket. I made a couple of thousand on it and made sure I sold it all as the market started to crash and burn. I did buy a few shares of AOL and Sun Microsystems later on - BIG MISTAKE!!!! :o

I own several shares of Jack Henry stock. It originally started out as a 4 person, 1 building business here in Monett but has since grown into a multi-city organization. Their home office (or should I say complex) is huge here. They sell computerized banking software. I got some for graduation and that has lost money, but I bought a lot (not going to give an exact figure here, but more than 50) of shares about 3 months after 9-11 when it was down to around $7.00 a share... I have doubled my money so far.

Other than that, I don't really get into the stock market.

No...never have. Came close to purchasing some EDS stock in 95' (I was an employee), but decided against it.

I don't think I will ever "dabble" in the stock market. I will have to know something about it before going into it, as everyone does.

There are a lot of things I would like to do and get, but I am not sure if I will. :?

Dennis we have some 401k and annuity in it, and to support my boys, I own some of each of their stock.

My remiaining investment history has been flawless. I have lost $12,500 completely once. I have lost $14,007 completely once. I have lost $5,500 completely once.

I should write a book on what I did wrong. I might finally get a return on my investments.

I have a 401k at work. The way the stock market has been I think that I dribble more than I dabble.
