Local con scheme targets women

This happened in the Cincinnati area but could happen anywhere. I certainly don't want to frighten anyone to the point of no longer venturing out (basically how my mom feels now) but at least have your wits about you, in any public place.
Oh how I long for the simple, safe days of Mayberry - they seem to be gone forever. If they ever truly existed in the first place. I grew up in a small one mile square village north of Cincinnati. We never locked our doors and I honestly don't recall talk of crime. I'm sure it existed but I never heard about it. Worst I ever heard about were kids TP'ing a house or swiping candy.
