Severe Outbreak Potential! Map & Details! 7/19/03!!!!!!!

#1 Postby Guest » Thu Jul 03, 2003 2:56 pm

Well right now its not looking good for outdoor activities for the next day or so in the Midwest/OHIO Valley/ And Great Lakes Regions because as of right now SPC Has all of these regions in a moderate threat for severe weather...............(And yes this is a NEWER UPDATE FROM THE LAST EVENT on the 4th).................Which later tonight may go to HIGH RISK.....................The main threats will be large Hail and Damaging Winds and Heavy rainfall................Tornadoes of course in this kind of set up cannot be ruled out either.................................Below i am adding the spc threat map for tommorows outlook that hopefully could change for the better by tomorrow so check back in for updates on it......................BTW it will update itself automaticly....................This is very unusual to see this kind of prolonged and widespread potential in mid July.................And as i have said these are just the areas at highest risk meaning severe weather could be possible elsewhere especially in any given thunderstorm like in the TN Valley/Mid-Atlantic/ or the Gulf coast for that matter..............Check back in for further updates on this potential........................

Oh good,we're right in the thick of it... Hardly a 4th of July goes by w/o a good old thunderboomer.

I've checked a couple of diff. weather sites and they are only giving us a 30% chance of storms. Do you think diff. king of weather ? I live in Lenawee county in southeast Mich. right on the Ohio border. Only 45 minutes from Tony Pacos in Toledo !! I keep waiting for a real breakout here.Everything so far seems to dissapate once it hits our county. Thanks for the heads up ! ~K

Well the best chance for storms in our areas pvroses will be later in the evening hours and tommorow night which i would give it a 50% or better chance of happening some of which may be severe....................Kinda funny btw seeing you say that about what happens to storms in your county.........Same sort of thing happens here as well and this includes winter precip.............We will probably just get the rain and a little thunder and lightning and that will be about it seeing how the bigger storms do like to avoid our counties........lol..........Its all just as well because i really wouldnt want to see alot of severe weather break out especially on this day when most people will be out and about..................

Thank you ! I will be checking on and off all day today, just to keep aware of what may be comming. I love the storms, but I hope we don't get terribly strong ones.Too many people will be busy w/ the picnics and such to pay attention to the sky.

I had to laugh when you mentioned your county too is affected by "the curse" ! My DH and I joke that we have a dome over this county. Everything goes north, south or simply disappears as soon as it touchs the county line ! I didn't realize you were'nt too far from me !

I'll be keeping watch..... ~K

We're ok here ! The first batch of storms hit about 12:35pm. I was watching for it. Good God was it steamy today, more fuel for the "fire". It moved pretty dang fast.It had my heart racing for about 10 minutes when the first wall clouds were rolling over the house ! I stood on the back porch and watched the two clouds twist and turn into themselves. They kept building lower and lower ! I was thinking "Just keep going....." But as usual we were in a small spot between 2 larger storms....one to the north and one to the south... We did have 45-50 mph winds for the first 15 min. or so. Then the rain came.... It poured buckets ! I could hardly see the house accross the street for a while. Second batch of storms grazed us,but again they weren't bad at all.Clouds and wind. Our electric dimmed a few times, but never went out. I checked radar before I logged on here.Looks like you all in Ohio are getting nailed right now ! Stay safe... ~K

With the threats on the rise tonight i am adding the SPC continuess updated Severe thunderstorm and Tornado Watch map which shows where all the watches are at in the USA....................This is very bad news for anyone growing anything in western Ohio and Central and Northern Indiana where some places have gotten nearly a foot of rain the last couple of days...................The same could be said for the gulfcoast states of LA/AL/GA and Se.TX where the threat for storms will continue into tomorrow adding more un needed rain in alot of places...................Remember the map below will update itself so check back in for the latest info on watches and warnings.................The Blue dots means severe thunderstorm warning and the Red dots mean Tornado Warning and the grren ones have to do with flooding the rest is explained on the map...................
