My friend's vocabulary is improving

As I found out from a school bus driver yesterday (Wednesday), my best friend, Jason (diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy [DMD to abbreviate]) may be able to talk. It was such a great, yet odd moment, because when the bus driver was telling him the proper way to strap on a wheelchair, Jason told her to "shut up". As I might've told you a year back, his DMD affected not only his leg muscles, it also affected his speech ability. He can say a few words, and numbers from 1-10, but that was about it. Who knows, his vocabulary may fully improve in the next few years.

Excellent -- and the situation shows that when you've got something important to say, you'll find a way to say it!

Whatever therapy he's been given seems to be working.
