REALLY ANGRY!

Seems my account is overdrawn by $260! This when I know for pure fact I never spent any more than $150 this week out of 300 that was available. Evidently a transaction I was not warned about happened and now I am REALLY mad!

Did you approve a transaction that was supposed to be automatically withdrawn on a certain date? A bill payment possibly? There's no way a transaction like that can be made without your approval.

I was not told this was going to happen this week. It occurred on Monday and I didn't even talk to them. This was a mobile phone place at the mall that did this, I should think they'd be required to tell you if they were going to do this on a certain date.

Talk to a bank officer and straighten it out. This is nothing to get all upset over. Things like this happen to everyone. My husband writes checks and never puts the amount in the book, so I have to wait till all checks clear to see what he spent

Banks will work with you.

i do that (though inadvertently) with debit card purchases. though we never have an overdraw because we have a large buffer built in.....

I'm going right now to the mall and then the bank to straighten all this out. Needless to say though, the fact that I was not alerted that the transaction would occur this week was enough to really get me angry. And all I know is, my week from hell continues.

Well, if this is something that takes a date, set up a payment date today and that will be solved.

This is a very good reason to use a credit card.

Like Janice and Alice, I love that "buffer fund".

The bank will work with you though.

I never give authoriation for anyone to take money out of my account. I make them bill me and I write a check. Never get overdrawn this way......MGC

I've overdrawn a few times.... I never write to balance my checkbook... I use online banking to do that. Overdraft Protection actually might help you if you have this problem.

Banks WILL work with you on this subject.

Go talk to your bank and see what they can do to help. Explain to them that you didn't know that this transaction was going through. Usually when you talk to them they will work with you.
