Please pray for me

I am just getting up my strength to post this. Around 2 a.m. this morning, I started balling over with severe stomach pain. It was the worse pain I ever experienced in all my years of IBS. It was a sharp stabbing pain and I felt like I was going to die. I kept throwing up. I was crying and screaming in pain. After around 5 a.m. when the pain kept getting worse, my mom rushed me to ER. I went to the regular hospital even though I have no insurance. The state charity hospital is an hour drive away and I was in too much pain to tolerate that long of a car ride. I am very worried about how I am going to pay the bill. Once I pay the bills I have now, I have very little left over.

I am on 4 different medications now and the doctors ran all kinds of tests. My white cell count was very high. He drew blood, and gave me a urine test. He gave me 2 different shots to control the pain. He said he was probably a gastrointestinal virus complicated by my IBS. And said I have a possible uterus infection and possible endometrios. I have to see a gynocologist as soon as possible. I just went a couple of months ago and I have been on birth control pills for almost 12 years since the age of 18. I got on the pill due to severe cramping every month. Just pray for me that it is not too serious. I keep having severe stomach pain about every 2 weeks now. But, this is the worse pain I remembered in quite some time. I am just very scared that it could be something serious. My grandma suffered with stomach pains for 5 years and it turned out to be colon cancer. She died from it in 2002. I am not saying that I have the same thing because it is rare for someone at my young age. But, I am still very scared that I have something seriously wrong with me. This is the first time I missed work in almost a year. I can't really afford to, but today it could not be helped. I was hurting way too bad.

My mom has IBS and I know it can be very painful. I know that the hospital will work with you on paying them a monthly payment. You have to suggest a low amount so that way it will help you out from month to month. I am really sorry that you are going through this. Have the tests come back yet or do you have to wait till tomorrow?

Yes, the tests have come back and they said my white count is very high. Meaning I have an infection. I am on an antibotic. And 2 different pain pills. I forced myself to eat chicken noodle soup for lunch. I felt very dehydrated. I am feeling a little better but not that great. I am going to stay in bed all day and get some rest. But, I will still check in online when I am feeling up to it. I will try to go to work if I am feeling better tomorrow. I need to schedule an appointment for a gynocologist. My work schedule is crazy. Working 6 days a week with my only day off being Sunday. But, I know my health comes first. I am praying that I can find a job soon that has insurance!

Prayers headed your way.

Be well. Hopefully it's only an infection and the antibiotics take care of it.

Oh, yes, take care of yourself. Don't worry about the bill. We will be paying off bills, all of us, till the day we die. Yes, the hospital will set up a low payment. Remember to keep all your records for all medical, tax deductable. You may get some money back to pay on the bill. Keep us updated on your progress. Hope you get well soon.

There is some truth the stress aggravates IBS. Since I quit my cooking job and went to driving my attacks are milder and less frequent..more of an annoyance than anything else. And when it flares up u are much more susceptible to infection. Since they gave u antibiotics your infection is bacterial rather than viral; keep taking the meds till they are gone even if you feel better. Drink plenty of clear fluids as this helps your body fight off the infection as well. Good luck.

I agree about stress. Mine is a delayed reaction though. It usually hits a few months later.

Diverticulitis is a form of IBD that could create infections inside the lining of your colon.

With all of the pain that you go through, I can't believe that it is just IBS. You've had a colonoscopy, the barium test, sigmoid scope and endoscopy? I just can't believe that you don't have ulcers or something else going on in there.

You probably STILL have it. I don't think it ever goes away since it is a disease. You just haven't had flare-ups. A good friend of mine has it and has been out sick on some occassions because of the pain.

Yea Stephanie it rears its ugly head every now and then. But its tolerable now and ive only needed medical attention once in the past couple of years.
