Rosie O'Donnell to replace Meredith Vieira on 'The View'
NEW YORK (AP) – The AP's David Bauder reports that Rosie O'Donnell is the latest to join the Katie Couric merry-go-round.
O'Donnell will take over Meredith Vieira's slot on the talk show The View, according to a person close to the show who spoke on the condition of anonymity because The View wanted to make the announcement on Friday's show.
Vieira, of course, is replacing Couric on the Today show once the spunky newscaster moves to CBS News.
ABC officials declined comment on the report Thursday.

I never liked The View anyway. These women just talk over one another and whomever talks the loudest gets to talk the longest. Rosie will fit right in with her big mouth. I did like Vieira.

As a talk show host, she was okay. I only tuned in for certain guests anyway.
As for watching her as a co-host for a pseudo-political talk show -- I'll pass.
What's really sad - I share a birthday with her.

I don't watch the show either. Can't they put something else in it's place, like I Love Lucy

Well it should be interesting to say the least. I will tune it just to see. I did actually like Rosie on her daytime talk show. I went to see her when they taped a week here in Disneys Animal Kingdom. Still got a few koshies she shot out into the audience.

Not sure how she will handle this position though.

Rosie is too loud for me, personally. Back in her HBO stand-up comic days,
she was too loud - her voice runs up my spine! But, she evidently was liked
by a lot of folks, to get her own show. I bought the VERY last (and only) issue
of her magazine (the "Farewell Issue" - December 2002) because Richard Gere
was on the cover, and, there was an interview with Richard.

I remember Rosie on Nickelodeon...showing my age a little bit.
She was great on Nickelodeon. Now she's mainly famous for being loud and lesbian. (not passing judgement; but I don't think she'll be as successful on The View as she used to be)
