Wow, lucky you. Beautiful animals.

This is outside this morning. We have a huge house, 10 rooms, we just put two new doors on two bedrooms and a new deck. The whole back should be done in a couple months. We have purchased all our new dark brown tile for the decks and pool area. So, basically, just paint the rest of the outside and do a lot of landscaping. I am going to put a couple big pots with small trees on the deck by the doors. The worse of our work is done. We hope to put on the market at the end of the year. I wish I knew how to turn on the waterfall in the pool, it is beautiful. We have an even larger one at the other part of the yard. Maybe tonight, I can get John to turn them on for a pic.

What beautiful pictures and what beautiful houses. You live in a wonderful neighborhood.

I wish our grass was that green. It gets so dry here, it is hard to have a nice green yard like those.

I think I took those pictures in 2004, or early 2005. The grass is dead now. :( It was dead all last year too after spring.

A few pictures of Utrecht, the city I live in. It's the Netherlands 4th largest city, with about 280.000 living in it. It's quite an old city, since it was founded by the Romans in 47 AD, but you won't find anything older then a 1000 years right now (wel, maybe if you dig deep enough you'll find something Roman). I hope you like it

Utrecht's cathedral tower, a bit of an icon

A canal in old city (Oude Gracht).

Aerial view of a part of the city centre (flat eh? :P)

And finally, this is what I always see when I wake up in the morning.

Oops, thought I had it in my profile.

I live in Costa Mesa, California. It's about 45 minutes to the southeast of Los Angeles. :)

About two miles north of our home

Here's a photo...about two miles north of our home in NE Phoenix.

Looking at this photo, it is hard to believe that our house is actually in the middle of great shopping, tremendous employment potential, and some of the most beautiful parks and golf courses in all of Phoenix.

What a wonderful place you live in. Just think of the weekend rides you can take to take in all this beauty. Is it legal to walk and pick up small cacti and take home.? Man, you could really start a variety of cacti from this place alone. Watch out for those snakes and spiders, tho.....

Well Janice, there are some protected varieties of cactus that you cannot transplant and move, but some are so small that they can surely be picked up and taken home.

My weekend walks are mostly by the small lakes in north Phoenix where the combination of water, desert plants, and plenty of green grass keep it cooler.

We have FAR fewer insects and spiders at our home than we ever did in Illinois, and we have only seen one small scorpion by our pool in the 9 years we have been here. And no snakes in our neighborhood either.

Then again, if I took more walks where these photos were taken, I'd surely have some tales to tell about the critters I would encounter.

But I have really come to love and appreciate Arizona. Here's a shot from Sedona which is two hours door-to-door from our home.
