I think that preachers should stick to saving souls.

There's enough need for that to keep Robertson busy and out of trouble for a while.

History is full of predictions that don't come true.

There's really nothing to it.

"If I heard the Lord right about 2006, the coasts of America will be lashed by storms," Robertson said May 8. On Wednesday, he added, "There well may be something as bad as a tsunami in the Pacific Northwest."

Gosh, we get storms every year. Not sure what he defines as a "lashing," but it could be minor compared to last year. Furthermore, he says "as bad as a tsunami." Now what does that mean? As bad as THE big one that hit or as bad as your basic tidal wave?

As far as I'm concerned, those are pretty vague statements and next year, he could claim he was right as long as we get a few tropical storms and maybe some surf phenomenon, even if it's not devastation. My main point is that the didn't predict the apocalypse, so it's no big thing.

It'd be about the same as me saying I predict next summer we'll have too many action/thriller summer releases, many of which will be sequels and remakes, and not a lot of dramas. That happens every year, at the rate Hollywood is going. But those statements are so vague, it would be easy to claim they were right.

I predict that GalvestonDuck will cut through the baloney of many overblown claims.

Since he talked to God, he could at least give us a general coastline. Does that include PR? The gulf, east coast or west coast?

He needs to be invited to Storm2k and find out what is really going on.....

Let's just lock this. This is a political slugfest waiting to happen.

Personally, I think he is nuts. Simple as that to sum it up. I agree with GalvestonDuck and coriolis.

I am not taking it seriously at all. Basically, IMO, it is just a big joke.

We need a good laugh.

I think Max Mayfield was talking to him in his sleep, but since Robertson is of simple mind, he believed, well, you know...

By the way, did you know Max Mayfield is Baptist and has faith? Read this article.

Very interesting.

Mayfield's witness is much more compelling and illuminating than Robertson's.

I think that Robertson has to keep things stirred up in order to keep the donations coming to his organization.

Oral Roberts once said God would "take him" if he didn't raise umpteen millions of dollars.... guess when he fell short the Lord changed His mind... these charlatans need to stick to the business of ministry and leave prognostication to weather forecasters... Robertson's fallen over the edge IMHO.

Actually, he was ALREADY way over the edge LONG before he just said this. He ALWAYS has been over the edge.

Indeed it was! Gives me a whole new perspective of Max, and while already impressive, this only makes me respect him a whole lot more!
