In the 1970s sitcom "GOOD TIMES" How was John Amos (James Evans) killed off the show? I have rattled my brains and cant remember how he was "killed" off.

James Evans was killed in a car accident (prompting the famous line "Damn, damn, damn", and Rolle left voluntarily later on, finally fed up with the direction of the show

I don't know if he was killed in real life or the show. Maybe someone else recalls.

The actor is still alive.

The character was killed in a car accident in Mississippi--the family was about to move there as he'd found a new job.

I thought Rolle stayed on until the end. Or at least, she was there for the final episode when Florida and the Evans family found a duplex to move into and found out later that Willona had also found a new place to live, and it happened to be right next door to the Evans family in the same duplex.

Amos is still alive, but Rolle died a few years ago.

My daughter was watching "Dr. Doolittle 3" the other night, and I noticed that John Amos has a role in it!
