U.S. Capitol Police Investigating Reports of Gunfire

WASHINGTON — Police sealed off the Capitol on Friday after receiving reports of gunfire in a House office building across the street.

Capitol police are investigating "the sound of gunfire in the garage level of the Rayburn House Office Building," said an announcement on the internal Capitol voice alarm system.

Four ambulances have arrived at House office building, The Associated Press reports. (from cnn and fox news)

FBI terrorism task force is now on the scene as well.

Where was security? You would think if someone could get in with a gun, they could get in with a bomb too.

So far they haven't confirmed any injuries or that shots were even really fired. Capitol Police news conference at the top of the hour.

They are putting yellow tape all around now. Does that mean it is a crime scene now?

They are saying that the man in the gym may be an undercover cop.

A memo just went out stating this could take several hours. Right now, it is just the Rayburn building closed, the others are open now.
