The 6 with the most votes come back(3 men, 3 women), then the producers pick 6 more, but there's no limit on votes or the number of times you vote for someone.

I know there's some Aussies here that'll be very dissapointed after reading this story:

Australian PM calls for "Big Brother" eviction

CANBERRA, Australia (Reuters) - Australian Prime Minister John Howard called Monday for reality television program "Big Brother" to be taken off the air after an incident between contestants prompted an investigation into sexual assault.

Two housemates were kicked off the program Saturday and police were called in after an early-morning incident was broadcast live on the Internet by the Ten Network.

Police said they would lay no charges over the incident, where a male contestant held down a female housemate while another male contestant rubbed his crotch in her face.

"I think it is just a question of good taste," Howard told Australian radio Monday.

"Here is a great opportunity for Channel Ten to do a bit of self-regulation and get this stupid program off the air."

The Saturday incident is the latest in a long string of complaints about the raunchy antics of the young housemates. The previous week the channel dumped an adults-only version of the show after complaints about excessive nudity.

Members of Howard's conservative government have complained that the program is in bad taste and will undermine the Ten Network's push for more deregulated media ownership laws.

The current sixth series of "Big Brother" in Australia is part of a bid by the country's third-ranked television broadcaster to target and build up a younger audience.

Big Brother is a reality show where a group of strangers are locked in a house and the television audience votes them out gradually, one by one. Local versions of the show have been produced around the world, from Britain to South Africa.

I am a subscriber to Big Brother Australia Premium...and I'd tell you, this was just way out of character for these 2 guys, but its the effects of single people living in a house for the past 70 days (up to the day of the incident on Saturday morning).
Not that it was a right thing for them to do, becuase it wasn't, but even the girl in question (Camilla), said that it was probably just done in fun, though she didn't appreciate it. She was the one who got into bed with these 2 guys... they didn't pull her into the bed, it was all in good fun, yes it still didn't give them the right to do whatever they wanted, but she was all happy and didn't really make a big deal out of it.

In fact, when Queensland police interviewed her, she said she did not wish to pursue the matter further. I think ..yes the 2 guys broke the rules of the house and yes, probably they should have been removed from the house, which they were, but it doesn't mean the whole Big Brother Show should be scrapped becuase of this.

Big Brother Australia works in a different way to Big Brother USA. When they entered the house in April, the prize money was $ 1M AUSD for the winner to claim at the end, but Big Brother penalizes house guests for infractions of the rules, like forgetting to wear microphones, or calling Big Brother names, or failing to do certain duties etc. Each fine is a minimum penalty of $5000....so in effect..the houseguests are in charge of their destiny, to date..the prize money is down to $275,000.

This is a good show! I hope it returns next season. I don't want it to leave the airwaves just because of an incident that was just done by these hormone raging guys...who are nice guys according to the Aussie public, for they are the ones who vote out one guest at a time ever Sunday night...and they have survived the last few months. It wouldn't be right.

Yeah aussiemark...I fell in love with BBAustralia several years ago, I love the "Aussie" talk.

Big Brother USA (we don't have one in Canada) is different, but each one is unique. In BBUsa, every week, someone gets voted off (not by the public but by secret votes from the other House Guests) and the votes are read out on air on a live eviction show, up to last year, was every Thursday night.
Immediately after the eviction, a new HoH (Head of House) is appointed ... which is done by a contest that can take a few minutes or it can take a few hours, depending on the week's contest. This HoH, while he/she is secure for the week, and is immune from the next week's eviction, carries alot of responsibilty. It is designed by nature to create waves in the house.... the HoH gets special privelidges, like their own room etc, but he/she has to choose 2 people a few days later...2 people who will be up for eviction the following week. But in the interim, another person is appointed who can either overrule his decision and pull someone off the eviction table before it gets down to the votes... (which creates further waves) or he can choose to leave it as it is (which also creates waves).
It all leads to trash talking, side-taking, but loads of entertainment.

Also..the prize money does not whittle away as it does with the Aussie version. It remains constant.
I love both shows.
