I've been waking up each morning with a stiff neck that doesn't go away all day. I decided to get a new pillow thinking my old one was possibly too flat even though i would wash & dry it to fluff it up. I bought a new one last night and slept soooooo good and no stiff neck. How often do you get new bed pillows?

Memory Foam pillows..... they are expensive, but like dying and going to heaven.... :D

I will get new ones when these wear out.

I have had the same feather pillow since I was four or five years old. It was made by my great grandmother and is the most comfortable pillow I have ever owned. As you can see, I am a little partial to it.

Did ya know -- the average 5-year old pillow contains 10% of its weight in dust mites?

Once a year. I buy the medium down pillows - have a ruptured disc in my neck so this gives me some support without being too hard.

I don't sleep with any pillows at all. Most people think I am weird for not sleeping with pillows. But, I have been like that since I was a little kid. Every time I would try to sleep with a pillow, I would feel like I could not breathe and was suffocating.

Ive got a neck injury due to a bad accident in 1995. A pillow is a must or I will wake up feeling miserable. Typically I need a new one every year or so and im about due for another one now.

Maybe thats why I haven't been sleeping very good lately and my allergies have been bothering me. Time for some new pillows.

How can you tell if you have them. Does that go for throw pillows too, like on your bed or sofa. John lays on the throw pillows on the sofa....

I don't replace them too often. I like the one I have with medium support. I like to sleep on my stomach, burying my face into those dust mites - THANKS DUCKIE!

Sorry, gang. :) Just saw that recently on the news -- some OSU study, if I recall correctly. Made me pitch mine too, Linda! :)

Not sure about the throw pillows, Janice. There might not be quite as many since he probably doesn't spend 6, 7, 8 hours a day on them (or does he?).

They feed off the skin cells that we shed.

My mama throws the pillows in the dryer every week. I would think the heat would kill any bacteria or dust mites, but not sure. I also spray them with fabreze to freshen them. We keep ours about a year.

I guess I am keeping my dust mites. I have a feather pillow and down pillow that are a number of years old. I have tried to change but love my pillows.

Everybody send your old pillows to GalvestonDuck.

I change my pillow case every day, because if the dog isn't sitting on the pillow, one of the kids have their feet on it.

I have one that contains shredded foam rubber. I can't sleep on those fiberfill pillows.
