I spend a million dollars a year of somebody else's money for a living. You'd think it would be a pretty cool job, right?.....

NOT!!!!

I have to say that I love my job. I love working with kids and watching them learn something new. Especially when they have struggle with it and finally catch on to it. I loved it when a few of my high school students made me a promise that they would stay in school instead of dropping out and I would go to their graduation. And yes I was there and clapping till my hands hurt. Yes, I love my job!

There is no greater job than that of an educator.

:uarrow: AMEN! I love my job as an educator, too -- as I have loved it for 34 years! :D

Glad to see so many educators here. I love my job too. Not very lucrative; but there's no price one can put on the feeling you get when a kid comes back years later and tells you how you've changed their life. Anyone looking to make the bucks is definitely in the wrong place if they're considering teaching.

Only drawbacks for me happens to be dealing with some ADMINISTRATORS, and a select few parents... the kids have ALL been great, and that's after 27 years of doing it.

My job has it's upsides and downsides, but there is nothing greater than empowering someone to solve a problem, manage a task, build a team, or overcome and obstacle....while I am stepping aside, and feeling their pride and accomplishment when they meet or exceed their own expectations.

I measure my success through the eyes of the people who work for me.

And although my boss measures my success through the bottom line profits I hand over to him and our board of directors, that is secondary to the many other good things I have helped my employees achieve.

I really really like what I do and the autonomy I've been given to do it.

Love my job?

Probably not...but I love the rewards that come back to me through the people I have surrounding me. And a paycheck doesn't hurt when the bills keep coming.

I love my time off more than I love my job, but the pay is ok and the benefits are good. It's interesting and challenging, and the work we do is beneficial to the environment and civilization.

I have a love/hate relationship with my supervisor (in my own head). I have to admit that he's a very sucessful project manager and makes lots of money for the company. I've learned a lot from him, he is liberal in his attitude towards family obligations and personal needs, and he is very forthcoming with recognition for good work. On the other hand he pushes and pushes, and constantly changes priorities. Working for him is fast paced and frantic at times. He interrupts me many times a day. He treats me like his personal assistant rather than a professional in my own standing. I have to blow my own horn and say that I am a big part of his success. It's like a roller coaster.

I do love my job. It's the best fit for me. Unfortunately, with Tropicana being bought out, there's a good possibility that I MAY NOT have that job (or a job) within the next year. :(

It sucks to start all over again after 11 years. I'm keeping everything crossed though.
