Put my house up for sale

Big step for me at my age. Want to sell this house and move to North GA. It isn't the hurricanes, it is the heat.

If all goes well, I'll be starting a new life in a new community and by myself. Daughters will probably end up close by but, may take a year or two.

At 65, it is quite an adventure for me. New house, new town, new friends, new way of living and all by myself. I have been living alone for the last six months. It is the first time in my life I have lived completely alone. Not bad really.

In any case, please say a prayer for me. I'll need all I can get.

Good luck to you. I am just starting my 60's and we plan to put our house up for sale this winter. We are downsizing to a condo. We cannot wait either. A whole new wonderful adventure and chapter in our lives.

I guess you and I have a great deal to look forward to. New friends and new adventures.

Good luck! You know, this could be me in a couple of years. I'm thinking of doing the same thing.

That is a beautiful part of the country. I have been there a few times.

Canton is nice, but is growing pretty fast. I also like the areas around Blue Ridge and Ellijay. Epworth is small but very friendly. There are nice little churches and a spot called Miracle Spring, where a little spring moved during a storm to then flow on the church's property after a neighbor got mad and told the church folks that their spring was off-limits. There is an orchard in the area called Mercier Groves - they have great fruit, pies and such. I think Ellijay or Blue Ridge has an Apple Festival every year. You are not alone in wanting to escape the heat. This humidity has always just kicked my butt. I can hike or work all day and night in snow, but this humidity - whatta wimp. :( - Best wishes, and know that there are a lot of good folks in Georgia - especially north! :)
