Apparently were in the early stages of plotting attacks against the Sears Tower in Chicago, the FBI Building in Miami, and other places in South Florida.

Well, I do believe our country is full of terrorists just plotting away. Sometime, one of those groups will make good.

OMG! Just think what could have happened if these people weren't caught.

I would like to hear more details. What actually was their plan? Did they plan to use a white van for example to deliver their bombs or whatever they were planning to use?
Were they going to drive right up to these buildings or plant stuff inside. What date and time were they targeting?

Has anyone heard the details?

Or do you think this is all a front and they have other areas targeted? Maybe they want the feds, etc. to monitor these sites while they are really plotting somewhere else.

Plus, if there was an informant there who knew the plot, where are all the bombs, etc. I don't think they found anything. That is scary.

Janice - they were supposed to have a press conference earlier today. I missed it. From the news early this morning though - the FBI had infiltrated the group. They were trying to contact al queda and got the FBI instead! I am not certain how far the planning had gotten but do know they were trying to get ammonium nitrate to do it.

It will be interesting to see what details com eout of this. If you'll all recall, many of the 9/11 hijackers trained and planned in Florida as well.

Me too..... why was their place so clean. Where is all the stuff they had collected for the hit? Also, they lived in a poor area and didn't have a lot of money. From the videos on tv, it looked like there was a nice leather sofa in there and a glass top table, etc. How could they afford furniture like that. You would think they would have to keep their money for their families. Looks like their hideout was well furnished. I cannot imagine the undercover agent not reporting the truth. Maybe the guys caught on to him. Maybe they wanted him to think that these buildings were the target, when it may be other places. Maybe there is a large number who have not been arrested that are planning to carry out something.

Why is there even any reason to suspect those things?

Either way, it's a good thing we caught them. They were still in the early planning stages of this, though...doesn't seem like they were very far into the plans, considering they hadn't even set all of the specific targets yet and hadn't obtained any materials needed for an attack.

Yes, you are right. I am glad they rounded them up before anything happened. I hope they got all the group and no other plans are in the making.
