Do you have a lost parent or sibling that you have tried to search for? Do you think there might be a brother or sister out there that you have not met or unaware of? Maybe you do not know who your father is. Have you tried looking for them.

My aunt who is 78 found out when her mother died that her mother divorced two years before she was born. So, my aunt has a different father. He would be dead now, but she would have loved to find out who he was. Grandma never told her anything and my aunt never suspected anything.

I guess that is how things were handled years ago Janice.

My husband is adopted and I would love to meet his blood relatives, and if not would love to see their health history for my kids benefit. But Eric wants nothing to do with it. I think he resents his birth mom for 'giving him away'. I try to tell him it takes a brave person to give up such a wonderful gift as a child because you can not give that child what he/she truley needs in life. I think it meant she really loved him to do that. But he still shows no intrest at 33 years old. Maybe one day he will want to know, but I hope its not to late by then.

Im 100 percent sure I have no siblings. I would like to know what became of my maternal uncle and grandmother..and more importantly my cousins overseas who could still be alive...2 girls who should be in their mid 30's now. Lost contact with my mothers family in the early 70's. My Mother was Czech..emigrated to Germany after WW2 where she lived with her mother and brother till she met my dad who was a young soldier stationed over there.
