Well, what if China starts testing missles. Then Japan follows?
Maybe this is something no one can stop.
Are we looking at World War 3 very soon?

China already has ICBM's pointed at us...
They are in the process of advancing their techonlogy. It's not their landbased ICBM's that we should be worried about, but their advancement in underwater launchables.
Anyhow....North Korea and Iran are far more of an issue than China at this moment.

Nations test missiles. It started with Germany in WWII. There you go.

I don't mean to come off as mean spirited or anything, but a missile test is undertaken for the primary purpose of finding that missiles capabilities. Which would be 1) range 2) accuracy 3) reliability
Now the Chinese and Americans and Russians and everyone else who has missiles tests them. What made the NK launch different (but not exceptional) was that it was a provocative action. This is not exceptional because nations are constantly doing provocative things. When there is instability in Liberia and the United States sends a destroyer off the coast, that is a provocative action. One that I approve of because it was a good foreign policy. What I am saying is that provocative actions occur, and they very seldom lead to conflict.
You won't see WWIII occuring because of missile tests. WWIII if it comes will be much the same as WWI, a mistake in calculation of national interests. Because obviously global nuclear war is in no one's interests and will only occur because the policy for its use exists.

The reason I posted this was for comments.
Jack Cafferty is having this topic today on his show.
4 p.m.: Has World War III begun?
It should be interesting. CNN, the situation room with Wolf.

They are referring to the overall War on Terror, which includes Afghanistan and Iraq.

I've heard the war on terror identified as WWIII and WWIV. I think if you're going to place it as a world war it might as well be WWIV. WWIII being the cold war. Personally I think the War on Terror isn't anywhere as significant as the Cold War, which was nothing compared to WWI and WWII.

The US recently tested a missile off Hawaii...everyone tests it seems. As long as they are only tests and not being fired at someone we are good.

Yes, you are right. Just scary tho. They could veer off a bit and hit something and that could cause a big stir. Just a missle taking the wrong path, an error. Scary to me. Too many people playing this game.

Japan's Constitution prohibits them from having any weapons other than for defense.

China will be the world's economic superpower soon enough. The nukes will be an afterthought.
We're in more danger from things like Russian loose nukes that find their way to unfriendly "subnational" actors than another country's intentional launch.
