Anyone here ever figure out how to fold the fitted bedsheets so they don't look like they've been tangled up for years????? I must have spent an hour last night just trying to fold one fitted sheet and that dang blasted elastic on the ends would not fold right! Anyone have a good system for this????

Yep, there is a trick to it. Lets see if I can explain it. I almost need pictures. I think I will take one or 2 for you because I think it is worth it. Not many people know how to fold a fitted sheet. I will back in a few with a picture.

I lay my sheet on the carpet. I fold it in half and bring in the sides neatly. Then I fold it in half again. Now you have a neat square. Then I continue folding till small. Remember to bring in the edges so they are straight and alined.

Unfortunately living in a one bedroom apartment the way it's set up I tried to fold the queen size sheet on the floor, didn't have enough room to lay it flat, even with moving the coffee table and Digger's tank so I have to hold the sheet in my hands and do it that way.

You can click the pictures to make them bigger. Not the best pictures but you should get the point now. This is how mom taught me to fold long, long ago. Hope it helps.

First grab 2 corners one in each hand.


Then fold one over the other.


Do the same with the other side. Now it should look like this.


And then bring all 4 together all corners folded inside one another. Now you have a square.


Now its easy, just bring one side to the other.


And this is what is looks like all folded up.

I am able to do it all in my hand till it gets to the final square and then you can put it on the bed to finish the fold, its basically just slipping the corners into one another over your hands till all 4 are together, then its much smaller to work with. That is a king size sheet there.

Yes, O, great pics. That is somewhat what I do. Have to get the sides good and flat.

If you fold all the corners inside one another Janice it makes the sides flat, you should try it next time.

LOL! I don't even try to make it neat! I just kind of roll it up and put it in the closet!

I used to do that decagirl, but the hubby got a bug up his butt so now it's fold em neat (he's so meticulous sometimes, it drives me nuts, I'd like to fold him up in the closet )

Yeah Otown...i was thinking the same thing! If he wants them folded a certain way...next time you pull them out of the dryer, dump them on his lap and say have at it!

Heeehee thank you all, I checked out the pics and they are awesome and I went ahead and redid all my fitted sheets and now everything fits in the underbed storage container! Now I have a lot more room in my closet, thanks again O Town!!!!

I had a real laugh at this topic. If you all could see my linen closet......yikes!!!! I try to fold fitted sheets like that but it's not easy. They're usually half done that way and the rest, a wrinkled mess but they are clean for the next sheet change. My kids have traditional beds so we use fitted for their rooms.

We use 2 king sized flat sheets for our waterbed. One tucked in completely around and the top one tucked at the bottom and several feet near the bottom corner. I gave up years ago trying to keep waterbed sheets tucked in. I had a friend give me this tip once, she said - forget waterbed sheets - they're a joke.

But here's the funny thing...a few weeks ago I washed our sheets and hadn't put a set on before nightfall. Hubby was tired and wanted to turn in. I asked if he could put them on (he hasn't in years). Sure. He asked and I quote - when did we stop using waterbed sheets? LOL About ~10~ years ago!!!!!

Thank you for the pictures! I have never been able to get the fitted sheets folded properly - like someone else said, I basically just rolled them in a ball and called it good I have sheets hanging out on the line now and will try it tomorrow when I bring them in (I forgot to do it earlier, and don't feel like it anymore - too much catching up to do on the internet <g>.)
