Time for some "wimin" talk...and for those guys who wear makeup to I bought bareminerals makeup...i know you've seen the infomercial on it. Has anyone else here tried it or used it?

I've seen it many times on the infomercial. Do you like it? Has it lived up to the hype?

Is it a kind of make-up or the make-up that a lady mixes herself before applying? ...if so that's the kind my Mom uses.

I just saw an info-mercial about it yesterday and was wondering the same thing! The before and after pictures look amazing.

All I can say is we were skeptical about Proactiv, for several years, going the Dermatologist route (2 oral meds, 1 topical cream). Nina tried Proactiv over the winter and I do see a big difference. Her acne is not entirely gone but her skin tone looks better than ever and there are faint areas of acne, unlike before - with all the new pop ups.

So that is one product we skeptically tried and it has helped. Better than all the pills the Derm recommended, of which she never remembered to take!

I say go for it and let us know if you liked it!

CM - maybe you can explain this makeup. It seems more powder like that cream based foundations. I prefer the creams over powder but again, the pics they provide so look good. If we can believe them.......

I did use it for a while Kathy. I really liked it. I would probably still be using it if I hadn't developed an allergic reaction to it (my skin is super sensitive).

My mom uses it and has for a year or 2, QVC sells it. She seems to look okay in it, but when she first started to use it I did not like the way it looks on her. You could see areas on her face that looks as if she didn't rub in liquid foundation, kinda funky. Maybe because she hadn't got used to it yet on how to apply it. Now I don't notice that, I don't know if she switched the colors she was using or what but it looks good now. She loves it, she was all trying to push it on me. lol.

I've been meaning to try it, but really am happy with the makeup i'm using now. Alot of those infomercials have you sign up for monthly or quarterly shipments and you in "the Club".. and bill your credit card automatically at certain intervals.

Some people sell it cheaper on e-bay so you can try and buy it when you want it.

There is also a similar makeup line called Bare Escentuals with Melissa Gilbert as their spokesperson.

Maybe that is what my mom has. Which ever one it is she gets it off of QVC.

It's the same thing. Bare Escentuals is the parent company or something like that. My box has both names on it. I don't know much about it, i just thought i'd give it a try.

I love it! It's SO EASY and QUICK....I'll never go back to any other makeup. I get mine from eBay, as Hurricangirl mentioned. I started out with the intention of just trying it....and was so impressed that 's all I use now. The initial cost seems pricey, but it goes a loooooong way, and you use a minimal amount. The results are pretty good....even for an ole gal like me!..... p:wink:

I've heard of Bare Minerals but I've never used it.... It supposedly does great things for women.

I use the Physicians Formula version in the base powder and the bronzer.

It's fantastic -- I have slight flare-ups of rosacea occasionally, and a quick whisk of the base powder completely erases them.

And the bronzer looks better than any powder or liquid one I've ever used. No weird, fakey- coppery-orange tone -- or sparkly sheen, which doesn't look appropriate on my 56 yr. old face.

I'm not sure how the mineral-based coverage is so complete, yet the feel is so light! It's the best -- and the least -- base make-up I've ever used. I don't plan on going back to regular make-up.

I use this and will never go back. I am so impressed with the look and feel of this make up there is no other option for me. People have commented (a lot) on how much younger I look, as the make up gives you a soft glow. Love it love it love it!

My daughter uses the Bare Minerals make up. She goes to Orlando Mall to the shop to get it.

My wife uses and loves it. She is AmerAsian, and was an Eckerds cosmetician for many years. She said it is great stuff, but that you have to experiment and get the right shades for YOU, not the model whose colors you like. Early on, she did get some that for her was just a bit too dark and showed "edges" and all. She just bought some new brushes, especially a "Kabuki" brush from a place called Ulta close to the Florida Mall in south Orlando.

Personally speaking, what would be hard for me to get used to are the large brushes and the dry powder form. I've just always used liquid foundation. I equate powder to my mom's generation!

But from all the positive feedback here, I'd be willing to at least try it. My complextion is getting blotchy as I age and those lovely, uh older, age spots are showing up. Ugh!

I'd like to know how expensive this is also. Can someone tell us how much they've spent? Are we talking $50 or more, just for 2 products, foundation and blush?
