I thought I was going to hurl

I came in the house after doing a few things outside last night, and much to my disgust, my stepdaughter had put some stupid reality TV show on. From the moment I walked in the door, I could feel all the muscles in my body tense up, and I had that undeniable gag reflex creep up. Don’t even ask me what it was, all I know is it had that jerk Tommy Lee and a bunch of slutty looking woman with multiple piercings (everywhere you could see), strutting about looking stupid.
I assumed my position in my recliner, and quickly found Fox News for some relief.
Anybody else suffer from these anxiety attacks???

Careful j.....you're starting to sound like our parents' generation!
Had to laugh at you assuming your position in the recliner too! I take it the remote was firmly in YOUR hand? LOL
And yeah, I am turned off by some of these so called reality shows.

I have to admit that I get hooked on a few of the reality shows. I flip over to that particular show (Rock Star) just to get a few laughs and then go back to "So you think you can Dance". LOL

I was watching "Blue Collar TV" at that time.
I only watched that "Rock Star" show last summer to see the revival of INXS.

Speaking of reality shows... The One's results show last night went down as the lowest-rated premiere ever on ABC and the lowest-rated reality show premiere on any broadcast network. It actually did worse than Lost repeats!
I thought it would bomb, but this is like epic.
The first half of a two-hour "America's Got Talent" delivered a 5.3/10 for NBC at 8 p.m. "So You Think You Can Dance," 4.9/9, put FOX in second. The "Rock Star" results show on CBS was third at 3.4/6. ABC repeated the premiere of "The One: Making a Music Star" to finish fourth. An hour of "Blue Collar TV" averaged 1.7/3 for The WB, beating an "America's Next Top Model" rerun on UPN.
"America's Got Talent" improved to 6.9/12 at 9 p.m. That was enough to hold off the second hour of FOX's "Dance," which improved to 6.0/10. CBS stayed in third with a "Criminal Minds" repeat, 5.3/9. "The One" sunk to 1.3/2 on ABC, but that still beat The WB's "One Tree Hill" and UPN's "Eve and "Cuts."
CBS moved into the lead at 10 p.m. with "CSI: NY," 6.1/11. A "Law & Order: SVU" repeat on NBC earned a 4.9/9, while "The One's" results show came in at 1.9/3.

Brent -- You are the Statmeister. Good job.
Now before all you tree huggers think all I do is watch Fox News, I must say it's 2nd choice to a good old fashioned American pastime -- Red Sox Baseball. Sox played an afternoon game yesterday so I had time on my hands last night.

I am surprised you did not have a coronary by watching Fox. I guess its the little things that bring relief.

That's why it's only TV Land in my house after the news, I need a dose of "no brainers" after watching the world go to Hades in a handbasket (the news).....I despise any and ALL reality shows.

My real life keeps me hopping so that I don't have time or a desire for reality shows.
-Wife just had a near heart attack and has other various and sundry ailments frequently.
-Stepdaughter is getting married next month and it's getting crunch time.
-Oldest son is in boot camp for the summer
-Other three sons should be in boot camp!
I really don't need to watch a bunch of fools on TV trying to get a life!
