Yeah, we watched a few and it was really corny at times. I watched it back then, drooling over Greg Brady. I used to just hate Marcia! Liking Jan best (of the girls).

We watched the one where they couldn't decide what to do with all their S & H green stamps. A row boat or a sewing machine. The plot was so simple. Boys vs girls! And in the end do you know what they got? A second TV. My daughter Laura cracked up and I said well that was a big deal back then - a second TV was like getting a new pool today or something. You didn't have to share just one TV, for 9 people!!!!

Here's what I think of when I watch it - they rarely mentioned the boys real mother and the girls real dad. They were just one big blended family and it looked way too easy. Definitely not real life. And you can't help but remember that Robert Reed died young and was gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that. You just assumed since he played the role of dad so well, he was probably married with kids of his own. Please know I mean that comment with utmost respect. RIP Mr. Reed.

Not to mention, the Maid wasn't Mexican -- no disrespect intended.

It was Marcia, Marcia, Marcia Ed......I can just hear Jan saying it too! Meanwhile little Cindy (I always want to add loohoo) wasn't jealous a bit, b/c she was the youngest. Only Jan was. You just felt for Jan (or I did!).

Alice was the best live in maid, of all of them. If you'll recall, several shows had them back then. You had Aunt Bea on Andy Griffith (but she was family, although Alice became like family), Uncle Charlie on My Three Sons and before him, Bub, Mr. French on Family Affair, Mrs. Livingston on the Courtship of Eddie's Father, etc. Usually one parent was deceased. How did the story go on the Brady Bunch? Mike and the boys were so used to Alice, and Carol needed all the help she could get, they ended up keeping her?

Ah, if life were this simple and easy!

I remember watching it every day after school - my kids can't believe that that was the only thing on for a kid to watch in those days at 3:30 (and either right before or after the BB was Gilligan  ). Unless I wanted to watch Mr. Roger's Neighborhood; and depending on which BB episode it was, that was sometimes the choice.
