CRAWFORD, Texas — War protester Cindy Sheehan has purchased a 5-acre plot in Crawford with some of the insurance money she received after her son was killed in Iraq.

The group she helps lead, Gold Star Families for Peace, says on its Web site that it will return next month to the small town near Waco where President Bush has a ranch. Like last year, Sheehan will again demand to meet with the president.

"We decided to buy property in Crawford to use until George's resignation or impeachment, which we all hope is soon for the sake of the world," Sheehan, whose oldest son Casey was killed in Iraq in 2004, said in a newsletter set to be sent to supporters Thursday. "I can't think of a better way to use Casey's insurance money than for peace, and I am sure that Casey approves."

The anti-war gathering in Crawford is scheduled for Aug. 16 through Sept. 2. But Bush is scheduled to be at his ranch mainly during the first two weeks of August.

The protesters had been gathering at a 1-acre property in the vicinity of Bush's ranch, but that arrangement did not work out this summer, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports in its Thursday online editions.

I like Cindy, but everything she does seems so... obvious. I don't know how to explain it. She definately ain't no John Lennon. Maybe we are too busy comparing the two.

John Lennon was a reasonably intelligent and artistic person. Cindy Sheehan is neither of those.

It was time for a change.

I have a word for Cindy Sheehan: Shrill, annoying, whining. OK three words

We have to respect her loss in this this matter, but I think that it pushed her over the edge.

This might be political, but it seems like Cindy is using her dead son as an asset to her protest.

She is just... over using him.

Do you know her?

Evidence to back up statements is always demanded on this site, and I think it should apply here as well.

Her own actions are sufficient proof.

Her son would probably be embarrassed and roll over in his grave if he knew what she was doing. He may have felt the opposite as her. We will never know. I never heard from his friends in the service how he felt.
