Prayer request for my little nephew

I just recieved this from my sister in Oregon. Jacob is my 4 year old nephew. Needless to say, I'm worried sick
Jacob is pretty sick. He has been vomiting with a high fever (104.7) and cannot even keep water down.
The doctor met me at the office this morning and his white blood count is double what it should be. Not to scare you, but there is a possibility it could be meningitis. The doctor says in her heart she thinks it is just a viral infection, but the next 24 hours should prove one way or the other. I will keep you posted.

Perry, you have mine from the Burgh. Temps that high with that white count ususally signify a severe infection. ((hugs))

I'll keep Jake in my prayers Perry. I had a similar scare when my 3 year old little boy was a baby. I had taken him to our doctor and he arranged for us to go straight to the hospital and my little boy was admitted right away. He was very sick but tests confirmed it wasn't meningitis and we were only there a couple of days.
If they think there's even a chance it could be meningitis, they'll run tests but I hope this is just a virus. I'll definitely pray for him.

Poor Jacob! I'm glad that the doctor saw him right away! I'm praying that the illness is not that serious and that he will get well soon!

I have wonderful news! I just got off the phone with Becky and Jake is feeling much better this evening....was able to hold down some ginger ale and crackers, and even said "hi" to me over the phone
Sis's brother-in-law Andy is a M.D in Oregon, and said if Jake feels better, it's definitely not meningitis...praise the Lord!
