One year ago today

One year ago today, one of America's great journalists, Peter Jennings passed way from lung cancer.

I still kind of get choked up a little thinking about it. His insights would have been so valuable given the world that we live in today. His middle east expertise during this conflict would have enlightened us all.

His death was a tragic and yet so preventable loss. Hopefully, one outcome of this is that people were inspired to quit smoking.

Read in todays Az. Republic where Freddy Fender has terminal lung cancer  Didn't care for him too much except for his one song, "Wasted days and wasted nights!"

How true.

And it's difficult to realize that a whole year has gone by since his passing.
