Have you ever had back 2 back work days, where 1 day you've worked till really late, and then had to be back really early..

I ask because tomorrow night.. I work my usual 1-10, and then Thursday I have to work 6AM-3pm..

I'm probably gonna have to set my alarm Thurs. AM for like 3:45-4...so that I can get up..

1st bus from my house to where I have to transfer leaves at 4:40. Then the 1st bus, from the place I transfer at to Wal Mart @ 5:30 [Hope ya understand that sentence lol}

Tomorrow night: 1 word.. NYQUILL! :lol:

When I used to work for Wal-Mart during my college years. Will never ever do that job again! Anyway I would work the 2 to 10 shift on Friday night but many nights it would be 1 or 2 before I got out of that place. On Saturday I had to be at the store at 5am. It was a nightmare.

Had more quick turnarounds than I care to even think about when I was in the Military.

I wouldn't take Nyquil...you might not sleep it all off and then you'll be drowsy the next day.

You're young, don't worry about it. :)

Ditto on the Nyquill. If you want something to make your drowsy take one or two Benadryl capsules. Two is the adult dosage. But one will make you slightly drowsy. I took it when I waiting to get into the dentist - throbbing, very painful tooth. Years ago our Pediatrician recommended giving our young child half the normal dose of Benadryl. She had a terribly painful earache and Tylenol didn't quite take care of the pain (this was before children's Motrin came out). He said the Benadryl would make her sleepy, so she could rest and well, we could too. We had his very first am appt. in the morning. And we were just trying to get thru the night (when it wasn't a reason to head to the ER).

I agree with the Nyquill too. It will just make you feel worse.

Ok.. I have Benadryl too btw.. Maybe I'll use the Benadryl instead.. The Nyquill would probably actually make me cranky when I hear the alarm go off at about 3:45 or so :lol:

Ah well.. I'll figure it out.. :wink:

John - I would strongly recommend you skip caffeine before bedtime, at least by 4 hours and take one capsule of Benadryl. 2 could make you too drowsy and a little groggy when you wake up. One would be enough. Happy zzzzzzz.......lol.

Just a couple of weeks ago...I worked the 4 to 1 AM shift...and then had to turn around and be in for 6:30 AM the next day. Talk about being beat. I didnt fall asleep until almost 2:30 because my body was just wired after getting out of work.

Yeah, I have my share of those days around the busy Christmas season. I also work retail. I remember having to close the night before and have to be back at work for 7 am. And having to be at work at 5:30 a.m. for Black Friday.

I also work in a retail environment, but I'm lucky as our store is in the *Financial district*, so we keep almost office hours... open from 9am to 630pm mondays to fridays and 10am to 530pm on saturdays, Closed on sundays.

Can't beat that.

Like 8 years ago, I was working 2 jobs ... i'd work the overnight shift at a huge grocery store from 11pm til 730am, then a quick dash home, then go to my other job at the LCBO (Liquor Store) from 9am til 6pm, then come home, sleep for a few hours and go right back again to the grocery, doing this like 4 times per week.

Talk about tiring. Won't ever do that again.
