I've been struggling on where I should go for grad school, and I'm thinking about going into a grad meteorology program. As some of you may know, I'm an EE major at the University of Minnesota...I've always been interested in hurricanes and weather, just never got around to majoring in it due to out of state costs and such.

I'm considering University of Wisconsin and Penn State...I know these two Big 10 schools have great Meteorology programs...but where else? I want a quick, strong foundation to build on.

Thoughts? I need to hurry because the clock is ticking for me to apply. (Going into my last year here)

Hehe, the right person stumbled across this thread - I've been doing my own looking since I'm applying for undergrad studies now, but I'm probably going to be doing some sort of accelerated B.S.-M.S. program, so I've been looking at the grad programs a little bit as well. If you're looking everywhere, then here's what I've seen (and I'm sure others can vouch for or add to these programs):

NC State
SUNY-Albany
Florida State
University of Oklahoma
U. of Miami
Colorado State
University of Wyoming

That's the majority of them that I've come across, but the NSSL has put together a good page (with links!) of all the ones they know of, so although it might not be a complete listing of all of the programs, it definately includes all the schools with good programs.

Odd school... University of Wis- Milwaukee (this is not UWis) has another great program.... also try Western Illinois University or Northern Illinois University.
