We've all had chances to do things that we walked away from when given the opportunity.

One I remember was the invitation to fly onboard a hurricane hunter aircraft on a hurricane data flight.

On Saturday night, I had a chance for free stageside tickets to see LeeAnn Rimes performing under the night skies in the red rocks of Sedona at the Sedona Cultural Park. I was reminded today by those we could have gone with that the show was awesome and the seats better than front row at a table for six.

Were it not sold out...I could instead go see Norah Jones there in a few weeks...but she has been sold out for some time.

Any missed opportunities for anyone that you later learned was a BIG mistake to walk away from?

I can't think of anything too dramatic....but one of my ancestors really made a "boo boo" a century ago...

My great-great grandfather William Farr was a good friend of Asa Candler...the gentleman who created Coca Cola. Asa offered my great-great grandad a full partnership....50/50, if only he (my great-great grandad was an Atlanta businessman) would help him get his invention patented and marketed.

About the biggest "missed opportunity" I've blown so far was resigning from EDS in 1996. I seriously doubt I'll ever get a career opportunity that promising again; especially since I'm over 40.

Only one, really...her name was Eden Elizabeth, who I nicknamed "Escargot"...like that delicacy, our relationship grew slowly and steadily, and she was that far "above" me socially.
