i got one saying "storm2 official message". i deleted it because it looked suspicious

Are you sure you did not receive a pm. I get emails from Storm when someone sends me a pm.

Then, you must have opened it. Mine gives me a link to my message after I open it. Sometimes my messages come a little later on Storm. The email one comes first sometimes.

Huh, strange. I have not received anything from Storm2k except pm messages.

i just got another one, it says:

storm2kofficial new private message has arrived

i deleted that e-mail as well

Check your profile under "Notify on new private message" -- if it's marked "Yes," change it to "no" and you won't get those emails.

Also, those may have been from a couple of days ago...maybe you didn't get the email, but you got the PM's. I've seen occasions where the email was late getting to my box...usually because of my email server, not S2K's notification.

thats a possibility, but these e-mails dont look like the normal notifications i get when i receive a pm. thats why i am deleting them

can someone send me a test private message? i want to see if the notification looks the same. thanks

That would be if you did receive a private message.

That has happened to me before where there wasn't a message there. Usually, when you send a message, it sits in your outbox until the person you sent it to picks it up. MAYBE whoever was sending you the pm deleted the message from their outbox.

Just saw Duckie's post. Try that if you don't want to receive the e-mail messages but it is possible that if you didn't have a pm in your inbox, that person may have deleted it.

Thats exactley what it always says when I get an email telling me that I have recieved a pm from here. So I dunno.

They are just PM notifications. I checked the data base.. All is good

Well, Helen, I know you've received a couple of PM's in the past week or so because they were from me. And looking at your profile (which we have access to in order to activate and inactivate members), you do have YES selected under "Notify on new private message." Do you WISH to continue receiving those notifications? If so, leave it as is. If not, change it to NO. Then, have someone PM you and see if you still receive those unfamiliar emails.

I haven't received an email from S2k yet.

i want to keep getting them. i got 2 more, but this time they ended up in my spam folder
