Just like 9/11... Katrina movies?

I just watching CNN about that Katrina survivor who is making a documentary about it... then it hit me. I wonder how long it will be until we see Katrina movies coming out in theatres? It took some 3-4 years for movies about 9/11 to appear on TV.
I think a movie about Katrina would be interesting, so we could see what happened, because we weren't there.
Just a random thought I had.

Well, we'll see what hollywood wants us to think happened. Will all of the victims be angelic and pitiful? Will we see the ugliness - the shooting at rescuers and the angry, demanding hands up in the air saying "Where's our stuff?" How about the trash and filth dumped all over the shelter areas, looking like landfills rather than places of refuge?

Will we see the ugliness
I'd be willing to bet that this is some of the stuff they'll sensationalize about. I doubt they'll mention the "shooting at rescuers" as many have already said that this was just another "myth" about Katrina... sadly, I can not and will not reveal my source; but I firmly believe them, and there were most definitely people shooting at others coming to help... I KNOW one of them. The only thing I hope it doesn't become is another Spike Lee job of how it was a racist hurricane event--which I truly do not believe.

It was on the news about them shooting at rescuers. Not a myth.
That racist hurricane bit is quite boring. They need to send Al, Jesse and Nagin to another part of the world. Spike Lee could film their survival story.

I can see it now...
The movie will probably be based on only New orleans, and would completely leave MS/AL out of it. Also, it will probably call Katrina a Cat. 5 landfall
directly on New Orleans.
Hollywood seems to never be accurate when it comes to weather and basically only portrays the most dramatic, and sometimes inaccurate, side of the story. One example: TWISTER. in Hollywood they think it is possible for someone to survive an F-5 on a belt attached to a pipe without a single piece of debris hitting those on it.

Your wait is over -- "Hurricane Katrina"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0810907/
There have been a couple of television series that touched on Katrina already - Law & Order: SVU and Reba. Both shows' storylines dealt with victims in the aftermath, not the actual storms. And there are a number of documentaries.
A search for "hurricane rita" brought up this result -- "Hurricane Season"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0810907/ , but it's in development so the details haven't been posted except on the IMDbPro site. Basically, it's about a NOLA high school football team that struggles when the players are evacuated out of the area and away from each other. Not sure why it didn't come up when I included Katrina in the search, but since one storm followed the other and since a lot of evacuees who came here had to deal with Rita also, that could be why it came up in a Rita search.
