In your experience, is it harder to raise children or raise your spouse?

i dont know, it's a tough call. Kids really do listen, but have to make their life choices. Besides, you cant replace a kid. A husband, on the other hand, is ENTIRELY replaceable. Maybe that makes them more vulnerable. Besides, you can withhold a lot more things from your husband to make him behave than you could your kids.

I say that you can't compare them....Completely different set of problems.

I would venture to say that replaceable spouses is one of the biggest causes of problems in raising children. If the parents can't make good choices and resolve problems, how do you expect the kids to?

Furry, you must be blessed with a happy marriage. It gives me a warm fuzzy to see a couple that are still happy with each other. It really helps the kids.

If someone goes into a marraige planning to change their spouse they are going into a marraige for the wrong reasons. Kids do not come with a how to book and are a handful and then some to raise, but also are a wonderful joy.

I find children to be more profitable. I can raise a whole herd in the yard, but I can only have one spouse at a time.

:D

Spouse: Cheaper to rent than to own.

Which is easier - well with children, you can shape them. If you're lucky. With spouses - the damage has been done already. Or hopefully they were lovingly shaped by their parents.

One of the hardest lessons to learn in life is we cannot change other adults. So many brides marry, hoping their new husbands will change or cater to them. Sometimes it works (it did with our next door neighbors) but if you marry later in life, there's no way on God's green earth you're gonna change a spouse!

Mine? He's great but he's a slob. He joked he always was and now he's somewhat turned me into one. Years ago, I bleached curtains, ironed them even, washed and dried baseboards - each week! Geez, have no idea where that person went to....LOL

How was that - a complicate answer! he he

Spouse
Children are still young and can be molded to young adults. Men or should I say my husband is set in his ways and will never change.

My experience with raising a child is that the older he gets, the better I like him. :P

And it's tons more fun to be the grandma than "the mom."
