September 11, 2001 - What We Saw

This video was taken 5 years ago and just released online yesterday. It was taken on the 36th floor of a couple's home, 500 yards away from the North Tower. They explain their decision to release it all in the beginning of the video. Listening to their reactions...tears, is difficult, as I felt similarly, just from a much farther distance. They get a lot of video really up close to the WTC, and you see the first firetrucks arriving, etc.

All I have to say is.. wow!! Probably the best footage I have seen from that day. I wonder why they didn't show the 2nd plane or first tower collapsing?

I could do nothing but cry with this tape. Some of her emotions were like mine. When those buildings fell all I could think of was "OH MY GOD, those people!!"

Not that I recall. What happens when you try to open it?

I'm about to leave, but if I see your reply and have time before I leave, I'll try to help. If not, maybe someone else can, or I'll check this thread when I get back later tonight. :)

I thought for sure I'd have trouble seeing this video too - since we have a mac. But it loaded right away and began playing within 1 minute. Not sure how long this video is. I got 2/3rd's the way thru it and had to log off. I'll watch the rest when I have proper time. It is something you shouldn't rush. Very sad and I kept wanting to say what the young wife said - oh my God. They got tremendous up front video of that tragic day.

Wow Alicia that list was overwhelming, I obviously have not viewed it before. You are right I don't see any children in the World Trade Center list. One would think the child care facility was probably on the lower floor and most likley got out quickly. The only chilren under 10 years old I see at all is on flight 77, a father and his 2 daughters age 3 and 8. I tried to view a few pictures of the victims and the links are not working.
