Yeah I saw that on the news. Another sick and deranged person. Obviously desperate for a baby. I hope the mother fully recovers and they can find that innocent baby.

From the article...
The attacker had gained entry to the family’s home in Lonedell, about 45 miles south of St. Louis, on Friday afternoon by asking to use Stephanie Ochsenbine’s telephone. Ochsenbine’s boyfriend and Abby’s father, James Woods, was at work at the time, police said.
The woman probably staked out the house, waiting for the mother to be alone...and you NEVER, EVER let a stranger into your house to "use the telephone"!!! That's the oldest trick in the books! If someone claims an emergency, then tell them (through the door) that you are calling 911 and help is on its way. A woman home alone with two young children should NEVER open the door for anyone she doesn't know...and she should have a gun, too...kept out of the reach of the children, of course.

but again, we only know all this from the mother, right? and yes, it wouldnt be the first self-inflicted wound a person did to themselves. remember the black guy that nabbed susan smith's kids?
i am very suspicious of the amount of time she was supposedly unconcious before she reported the crime. it may have been an intruder, it may not have been

I think I know where rainstorm/Helen is coming from. Anymore I'm not inclined to believe the parents, as I once did. I'm not saying she isn't telling the truth but rather waiting for more info to come out. Deranged women have done heinous acts like this before, just to raise an infant themselves: remember the young woman whose baby was cut right out of her, while still pregnant? So it is possible she is telling the truth. I'm just not quick to believe what I am told, not since so many stories in local and national missing children reports turn out to be tragic (parents responsible).

she may be telling the truth, she may not be. another thing. i would assume based on the mothers story that she got a very good look at the woman that attacked her.
have the police released a description of the attacker? one clue to look at in these cases is how precise a description the mother gave. if the description is vague and general then she may be lying.
if the police had a detailed description then i would assume they would release it so the attacked could be caught.

Oh, geez!! What's wrong with some people?!?! There is a such thing as adopting a baby, instead of taking someone else's

Maybe we should wait for the police to SAY that the mother is a suspect before we convict her.

Key word, Helen -- wound. Not wound
s.
"Ochsenbine was stabbed several times and her throat was slashed."
She very well could have been unconscious for a while if she lost a lot of blood. I don't find reason, yet, to suspect the mother.

well, if she went unconcious for loss of blood, why did she wake up?
i have no proof of anything. it may well be an attack, it may not be. i always find it suspicious when the situation is like it is here

I think that pretty much rules out a self inflicted injury. JMHO

The abductor is described as a Caucasian female in her late thirties or early forties. She is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 200 lbs.
At the time of the abduction, the woman was wearing a baseball cap with a worn bill, with dark hair tucked under the hat along with a grey or brown T-shirt and blue jean shorts.
