OK...it was about this time 2 years ago that I SWORE I would NEVER own a darn cell phone, now, I can't LIVE without it

Mind you, it's ONLY because of the police dept. that I got one, with so much confidential information that cannot be given over the air due to the use of scanners these days, a cell phone is as important as your weapon....well, ALMOST
I just re-upped my 2 year contract with Verizon and I received a new RAZOR phone

as much as I hate to say it, I "LOVE" the phone!!
What service do you use and what kind of phone do you have?

I won't give up my land line for the simple fact that in case of an emergency, most cell signals are jammed up....
For instance, during the Rodeo Chediski Fire 4 yrs. ago....Michelle had cell phone service then ( I didn't, I hated them then) and "ALL CIRCUITS are busy!" was all she could get!! I use the land line for local calls but that's IT...all my long distance is cell

I guess I'm one of the few, I absolutely refuse to give up my land line and yes, I was like azsnowman, no cell phone, but with the 108 miles I travel daily between jobs, he told me to get a cell phone, so we have Virgin Mobile Pay as you go, it works out and he can IM me as it's cheaper that way then calling.

I have Centennial Wireless, and a Motorola V555 Phone that's pretty cool. But, I'm hoping to get me a Razor pretty soon.

I won't give up my landline either. After Katrina and Rita the cellphones were useless even for local calls. I was able to use my landline. Also my landline phone never went out during Lili or Rita. If there's an emergency, i can call from my landline and ems will be able to trace the call...not all cellphones have that capability yet.

We have a land line, although its digital so it will go out when the cable goes out or the power until I hook it to the generator.

We also have 2 cells, a Nextel and a Boost both are camera flip phones.

We have Sprint, just switched after having Nextel for 5 years. Husband got tired of dropping calls. He is a self employed carpenter so he needs a cell phone. He got me one because I am always running around. We have a land line only because of our alarm system and satellite tv. Otherwise would get rid of it. We pay $68.00 a month for it. Drives me nuts we NEVER use the house phone. After 2004 when we got hit by 3 hurricanes, my father in laws sprint still held his service. House phones and our nextels were out!! Everyone calls us on our cell phones ( we have had the same number for 6 years). I would love to get rid of the land line.

Hmmm, my hubby builds pools and works in Palm Coast daily and we love Nextel for the opposite reason you didn't like it. He has had Nextel for about 7 years now and never has any dropped calls, that is one thing I always used to brag about with Nextel, is how great their reception is, and how we never get any dropped calls.

same here with our landline...cost a bunch of $$$ and we only used it for faxes, which were about once in a blue moon...we had no need for it...and here after Isabel, Alex, Charley, and Ophelia we never lost service...heck, I was calling people during Ophelia...and we had Sprint...switching here to another service, and I might be getting my own cell ^^ (can you say, I'm sending in my number to our new Skywarn program where they call you if you are activated?

Razor phone with Cingular Wireless. Had Verizon for years, but they lied to me and screwed me to the tune of $700.00 on billing and we constantly had dropped calls. Never again will they see a penny from me!!!!! Quite happy with our Cingular so far. Still have a digital landline too.

Dennis? You caved? What IS this world coming to, I ask.....LOL
I'm still w/o a cell. Although for out of town trips, I borrow my husband's. But do I really understand how to work the darn thing - NO! I never answer when I'm driving either, a big-big pet peeve with me.
Just don't become one of those shoppers with the cell headset, giving out personal info while grocery shopping. Another pet peeve of mine!
How the mighty fall....he he

You know Mary, you used to be able to tell the crazy people cuz they walked around having conversations with themselves. Now you can't tell!

I still have a landline and use my cell (Verizon) once in a blue moon. I only have it cause, like angelwing, I travel about 80 miles daily.

OMGosh Mary....the phone things sticking out of the ear! Is that a bluetooth? They are the goofiest looking things i've ever seen. I've got one friend who wears one...and i don't have the nerve to tell her that it doesn't make her look "cool" (plus she doesn't get that many phone calls that warrant the earpiece).
My biggest pet peeve about cellphones is when i have a customer who interrupts his/her time with me to answer his/her cellphone. That's just plain rude.My time is valuable and i don't have time to wait for him/her to finish a phonecall. I'm at the point where i'm going to stick a sign on my counter requesting that all customers refrain from using their cellphone until they are finished their order/pickup with me. I have a landline phone here at work and i refuse to answer it if i have a customer.

Mama, what's a bluetooth? I've never heard that before. I too can't stand people walking around in the grocery store using their cell phone. I just don't get it!!!! What is so friggin important that it can't wait till they get in their car or home. The little neighborhood grocery store that I go to will not wait on people who are talking on their cell phones.

Bluetooth provides a way to connect and exchange information between devices like personal digital assistants (PDAs), mobile phones, laptops, PCs, printers, digital cameras and video game consoles via a secure, globally unlicensed short-range radio frequency. (Wireless basically)

I agree about the rudeness. I just let mine ring or I will turn it off before I go into a place.
I have Sprint and they suck! I am just waiting for the contract to be over with and am going to Cingular. After Katrina I had no service for quite some time. My signal is always fading and always during an important call. I have a Nextel phone too but just use the radio part of it. Nextel has horrible customer service and you have to pay 20 bucks to pay your bill in a Nextel office.

Their hidden fees and charges are outrageous. My sister had cell service before, during and after Katrina. She has Cingular.
I got in touch with vbhoutex using my Mom's cell phone which ended up costing me 10 bucks for just a few minutes. My Mom got her bill and said "I NEVER CALLED ANYONE IN HOUSTON!!" I had to fess up.
